    I read that silkies aren't proficient layers. They only lay about 3 a week. Is that the Average? My little Cashew has laid obesity a day for the last five days and is not acting the least bit broody. Is this normal?

    Anything is possible. I got them all from the same person who had them labeled as 3 day old. He also had 18 day and 4 week olds. Like I said I am new so he could have lied.

    What is the earliest that you all have had experience with hens laying? Isn't between 5 and 6 months the norm? It is kinda concerning me. I'm a new chicken mom. I already lost a little roo and it broke my heart. I don't want anything to happen to anymore.

    Yes, but only 2 and I am not sure which 2. The eggs being laid are large and creamy ivory and medium light brown so I don't think it it the ameraucana.
