    How & When to Ween Off Heat Lamp?

    Im in Kentucky, we weened off starting at 1 week, but they are already outside because the new ducks (think they are chickens) keep them warm. What a darling bunch I have!

    I'm baffled. My older girls stopped laying for about 6 months. I brought in new baby chicks two weeks ago and suddenly the old girls are laying again! How is this possible? Older hens are in a seperate coop right next to young chickens. Was it the babies peeping that cranked back the clock on...

    What a sweet and loving bird! They follow me around when I'm working in the yard. When in their coop, they sit and wait for me to walk by then jump up onto their pirch and hold a conversation with me. They follow my spoken directions for when to coop-up. I just love these girls. 5 star bird!
