I bought 7 Wyandotte chicks. This one was always a bit different than the others. Got his feathers late, is smaller than the rest, the only one with a single comb, and waddles. I got them from Big R. I am really hoping that maybe it's a different breed, or something.

This is really good to know. I found a rooster scantuary (no kill) , but they will not take him until he begins to crow.

I think he doesn't want them just incase they end up with a baby chick inside (if I forget to get the eggs right away). I also looked it up, and I am not allowed to have a rooster in my city =( So, now I have to find a way to re-home him.

Silly question, but what gives it away? I am trying to convince my husband that a rooster isn't a bad thing to have around... but he doesn't want fertilized eggs. =( He's a sweet bird, so I'd hate to have to get rid of him =(
