That is the remnants of their yolk sacs. They will be ok if you can get it dried up. The incubator is probably the best place for that, but make sure it doesn't catch on anything. I've had them snag on the metal incubator wire and then pull their guts out.
My first guess is rickets - a calcium deficiency cause their bones to weaken. My black sex links seems susceptible to this too. Try giving her some crushed up tums and Vitamin D drops to help get some calcium into her.
Best of luck,
Natalie

We had six hens in our medium-ish backyard when we lived in town. We just used a dog pooper-scooper every other day or so. Just took a few minutes and wasn't a big deal at all. The best part our friends were so friendly and my son who was 2 at the time petted them all the time. Now we live...
Nancy,
What kind of chicks did you get? They sure look like cute little fluffballs!
I'm expecting Delawares, Jaerhons, Chanteclers, Dorkings and Leghorns from them in a few weeks. Plus I ordered the hatchery surprise for $20. Who knows what I will get!

I've noticed that when my hygrometer is right over a water pan, that the humidity measures high, but when it is not over the water pan the humidity measures really low. I'm guessing the humidity across the incubator would be more even if the vents were plugged up, but I also want to make sure...
I am incubating Muscovy eggs for my first time, too. I have been up till the middle of the night all week searching on the internet for that elusive something that is going to be the answer to Muscovy egg incubation, but so far nothing. I guess it is just trial by fire! Of course, once I gave...
We have a feral cat in our barn who just kind of made himself at home. He could get into my little chickies if he wanted - they are about 10 days old, but he leaves them alone. (He would have to cross over my broody Muscovy mama's nest first!) The only time I ever see him is when I bring...
By cage do you mean pen or run? How big are your cages? I am having a hard time picturing your situation since "cage" makes me think of a space that is very small.
Good luck!
Natalie
Thanks for your advice. I saw both of my ducks come off their nests for their nightly leg stretch, but I just couldn't do the switcheroo on their nests. Maybe next time when I have a little more experience under my belt! I was afraid I would kill ALL the babies that way! At least I know that...
Your little duckies are so cute! What kind of incubator did you use? Do you have any advice now that you are a duckling hatching pro? I am trying to get my incubator set up for ducks and I'm a little nervous!
Best,
Natalie
I need help getting my incubator set up. Here is the back story:
I have two white Muscovy ducks and one white drake. In order to get a little color in my flock I bought some eggs on Ebay from a mixed color flock and am also getting some eggs (relatively) locally from someone who has all...
Hi,
I don't know if you figured out anything about your situation as I didn't have time to read all the posts, but I thought I would mention a few things.
When I lived in Michigan I used to buy eggs occasionally from a farm that was a few miles out of town. The eggs were great, but I never...
I was wondering the same thing. I tried to set up my broody in a small windowless ante-room off the main chicken area of the barn. She wasn't too keen on it, and snuck back into the main area where she is sitting on the main nest. I'm going to try to secure the "brooder room" better and try...
