We have already spoken to all neighbors, even ones that are not directly next to us. They have all agreed to sign something, and we are going to approach that route. We are crossing fingers it works.
you don't happen to live in Charleston,SC…we are having a similar problem. Someone has just said something after 8months. We have no fee's or agreement we have even signed and we have noticed many other" violations" in the neighborhood. When I brought them up,I was told, "that happened over...
We have 6 hens in a W.Ash neighborhood and have been here since Aug. We were told there is an unenforced HOA which includes no fences over 6ft. I can look out the front door and see at least 5 6ft fences. Today we got a letter saying no farm animals, addressed to the previous owner of the...
Ok, we have one silly lady who keeps laying in the dirt under the coop steeps. To my understudying, these eggs are not the safest to eat. We have 2 boxes for 6hens, which I think it enough. We have tried covering back in the hole she made to lay in,but she just digs it back. All the others...
Ok, so we sold our house and are moving. It will only be about 10-15miles (we have yet to find a new house) I'm not real sure the best way to move the girls. The real bummer is,they are 20wks and when we move in 6, I'm guessing they will have just started laying. We don't have animal...
Thank you all! We are still working on our design, we have a few weeks before laying begins, so we are trying to get our design as flawless as possible.
This is our nesting box, we are worried about the girls pooping in the nests because there is a bit of a ledge in the front. Thoughts, comments, ideas?

So I haven't posted in a long time. We are the proud family of 6 lovely ladies. 3RIR and 3 Australorps. I thought it was time I shared a photo or 2
I feel like some of them look a little skinny for 12wks
We got some in Charleston at the Tractor Supply, after running into a similar problem with the on line places. We have been very pleased. They have different birds coming in all the time.
So my RIRs are almost fully feathered, they only have a small area under them and their heads. The Australorps are so far behind its not funny. Will it mess up their relationship to move the RIR's to the coop and the Aussies later? They are all driving my nuts in the brooder and I can't wait...
WE have a sand box,but I hesitate,b/c its not covered and my son hasn't used it in a few years. We have a lot of stray cats, and I'm worried about worms.
