Question.
For those of you that use 3rd person close, do you write the thoughts of the character in italics, or do you work it into the text? For example…
NC_Quail looked at the sky. Thick black clouds were approaching. It’s going to rain, she thought.
Vs…
NC_Quail looked up at the sky...
To be fair, I’ve read a lot of books where the main character is never specifically described. Most of the time you can probably leave it up to the reader, unless the character’s physical appearance is particularly important.
