    Well, thanks for the help. I spent time reading up on crop issues and it appears the problem may have been sour crop. I've massaged her (friendly) crop, working out more fluid and stuff. She seems better, just weak now.

    breath smells bad-kind of like sour,dried blood. Her crop might be a little swollen, when I put pressure on it all I get is fluid. Plus it seems like she has two crops-one with the fluid,one with food. she does walk some,but is very lethargic and tipsy

    I'm happy to join the community, even though it's a sick chicken that got me here. We have 15 girls ranging in age from 7yrs to 10mos. wyandottes,reds,americanas,auericanas,sussex. All free ranging with our 7yr old daughter as the boss lady!

    I have a rhode island red/ red star? that is lethargic, when I picked her up yest. fluid came out of her mouth and eyes!! I gently squeezed her and I probably got over a cup! very gross. Now she is just standing alone in the coop with her eyes closed shaking her head every once in a while...
