    What are your rooster's names?

McDonald's - Leghorn - he got his name as a chick. He was fat and yellow. Would run everyone else out of the food so he could eat his share. Mocha - Americana - he also got his name as a chick. He was mocha colored as a youngster and it just fit. Cutest little chick I've ever seen!

    Found dead chicken

I'm curious as well. Just lost 2 yesterday. One had been sick so that wasn't unexpected but the other had been fine up until last night. She was gone by morning.

    Sudden hen aggression

Ok....so I have 4 chickens in a coop. 1 rooster and 3 hens. They are about 2 and a half years old and have been together since day 1. My coop is 12' by 8' (96 square feet) and has 4 boxes, perch, 2 water stations and a feeding station. They are currently being fed a mixture of flock raiser and...

    Help needed in Georgia!

I have a question that you guys may be able to help me with. I live in Spalding County GA and I have chickens. I keep my chickens in coops to keep them safe. My neighbor also has free range chickens that spend the majority of their time on my property. Anyway, recently my neighbor's boyfriend...

    Wobbly rooster

Well, prayers worked. Got back into town tonight and Mocha is all better! Not sure what happened but he was back to his normal non-wobbly self. Maybe he just had a lil too much to drink friday night!

    Wobbly rooster

So tonight when I went out to feed everyone my rooster was acting kinda funny. He was eating and drinking perfectly fine and feelin' frisky with his girls. However, when he tries to walk and eat he gets wobbly and kind of off balance. He hopped up on the perch and seemed ok until he tried to...

    Rooster with a hurt toe

Thanks everyone. His toe looked a little better this morning. A bit swollen but hasn't bled anymore and no one seems to be messing with him. I'll try to get a little neosporin on it tonight. Should I try cleaning with peroxide or something first?

    Rooster with a hurt toe

One of my roosters did something to his toe. When I went in to feed this evening I saw that there was blood on the perch where they all roost. Took me a while to figure out who it was but it seems one of the roosters did something to his toe. He's not super friendly so I wasn't able to catch him...

    Chicken Saddle Issues

I just put Hen Savers on my 3 girls tonight. I've got too many roos and not enough hens so they were getting bare backed. Roos are moving next weekend but I wanted something for them to wear in between so they didn't get any more damage. I have the backpack style and my hens acted as though...

    When can they go outside?

Thanks guys. They will be moving into a fully enclosed coop with a yard with wire over top and on all sides. I'll likely close them up in the actual coop at night for a while. This is, of course, if momma hen will let me do anything with them!

    When can they go outside?

I've got a hen and 10 chicks living in my garage at the moment in the middle of my stack of hay. I've got a coop being mended at the moment but need to know when I can put them out. They are a week old as of today. I live in Southern GA and right now our temps are in the 90s during the day and...

New to the forum and new to chickens!

Thank you everyone for the wonderful welcome! I'm sure I'll be on here asking a ton of questions. Thank you to whomever warned me about TSC. I didn't ask any employees for help but got the food based on what I read online. I typically don't trust the workers as a few have asked me questions! A...

New to the forum and new to chickens!

Hi, I'm from Georgia and I'm new to the forum as I just acquired a few chickens.....10 to be exact. Here's the story: Neighbor's hen decided my garage (and where I keep my horses hay) was a great place to lay eggs. I didn't think much of it until she started sitting on them. Few weeks...
