Is it ok for young (6 weeks old) chicks to be out in the rain? They have access to get in the coop if they want to. When it rains, they don't seem to want to go inside. We do put them in the coop and lock the door to the outside when it rains.
I have a 5 week old Barred Plymouth Rock who rolls in the shavings in the coop and trys to throw it on herself. I think I read somewhere on here that you should have some sand or dirt for them to roll in (dry bathe). Could someone tell me if this is so and what grade of dirt I should get?
