My 10 chicks are now 7 weeks also. I take them out to play in the tractor (just a cheap 1x2 ?? box and garden fence all the way around.) We have hawks and foxes all over up here. We stay with them. I only keep them out like an hour if it's over 50 degrees.....rarely up here! I have a 100w bulb...

I've got shavings in the coop but learned the hard way you have to keep food and water hanging. I didn't have a way to do that at first and the shavings would fill in the feeder and water. It was a MESS! Now I have things hanging the shavings are great and take from the coop to mulch my garden...
