I have three bantam roosters that we want to give away for free.
We can arrange to meet in NH, VT and Maine if it is not too far from out home near Littleton NH.
These are the guys , and we are only giving them away because we have 7 and need to cull down a bit.
We think we have 1 Golden Dutch...
These are just some general observations from my local..ish area relating to chickens and so on.
We were able to find White Broad Breast turkeys at the Tractor Supply in Plymouth NH, they also had a few Bantams, but no other birds.
We purchased six turkeys . We had only two last year, but I...
What were the sizes of your turkeys?.........never mind on that, I see the weights now.
We process our two today, dressed weight was 45.5 and 30.0 LBS.
We had a hard time finding a big big enough and went with garment vacuum bags.
Both will be cooked on Thanksgiving so they wont be in the bags...
the sensor is inside the coop.....I have another weather station on the other side of our property that gives me the actual "outside" weather.
Right now the temp inside the coop is 44 and the RH 84%.
The actual outside temp is 38 and RH 68%
I installed it today and it is working great.
Right now the temp is 43 and the humidity 77.
I am a little wary of the humidity .
On my other weather station that is on the other side of our property is saying 38 with 64% RH.
We put 2 vents in the wall of the coop that seem to be moving air, at...
I looked around and anything that gave me a lot of historical data would be prohibitively expensive........monthly or yearly fees and so on.
So we went to Lowe's and bought a Acu-rite weather station.
I has one sensor that will be in the coop...have to put lithium batteries for the cold.
The...
With winter just around the corner, I was wondering if any of you use a wireless temperature monitoring device in your coop, that you check on your PC, iPad or iPhone.
I have a wireless weather station that has a display in my HAM shack, but I would like something cheaper, just to keep an eyes...
so my wife came home back in April or so with two bantam chicks.
She thought they were Serama Bantams but I am not so sure.
They look a lot like Gray Japanese, but not close enough to be sure.
So I figure I would ask the experts.
My daughter loves them.
We ended up with one roo.
I have been thinking of that addition as well, in the winter it would be much more convenient to have a small roof there, as well as a gutter to direct the rain away from the run area. Thanks for the tip!
Yes, we got two Pekin and three Khaki Campbell.
The Pekin are going to be meat birds, the Campbells will be layers. To be honest, I am not sure I like having the ducks, they tend to be territorial around a watered. So we ended up getting two waterers, they also don’t like it when the chickens...
These pictures are of the primed coop, inside and out all primed.
Doors made, fence put and the lock in the run.
We still have a few big things to finish like the shade roof.
You can see how close the neighbors house is, everyone has been in the run six days and the neighbors ya they haven’t...
