    EMERGENCY my chick scalped herself

Blu-kote helps. I highly recommend it. Especially when introducing her back with the otherss. Other chicks can peck out it amd Blu-kote camouflages the wound to prevent others from pecking the wound

Good animal for protecting my girls from rattlesnakes?

Yep. Neighbors have guineas. They said the guineas actually don't kill any snakes. Just make massive noise until the snake leaves. I hear those guineas all night long. Good thing is their far enough i can't hear them in the house. They have about 18-20.

Good animal for protecting my girls from rattlesnakes?

I'm in south Texas and we have quite a few rattlesnakes. We haven't had any rattlesnake issues with the chickens. We free range our chickens. King Snakes do eat other snakes but they also eat eggs.

This chick is about 4 and a half weeks in the pictures. Came from Meyers Hatchery. Was a "leann's adopt me" special. This chick does not have puffy cheeks. Most the chicks are pretty calm with the exception of a couple of flighty leghorns. This chick on the other hand is possibly the most...
