Sudden onset respiratory illness in flock

I forgot to say where i am! I'm in the UK. No all my existing birds were perfectly healthy prior to this. These symptoms only occurred since 13/04/2025 and even then there have been gaps between birds becoming asymptomatic. No foul smells from any of them.

Sudden onset respiratory illness in flock

Thank you for the reply. Many thanks for your reply. This seller is very reputable and responsible. But I think perhaps the vendor he bulk bought these birds from hasn't waited a long enough period from vaccination to reselling them as he's now suddenly not contactable and is not accepting...

Sudden onset respiratory illness in flock

Hello, thanks in advance for any help offered. I had 6 large fowl that I hatched from eggs. A salmon pekin, 3 Orpingtons, 2 wyandottes. A week ago I purchased 2 brahma from a well-known seller. He reassured me that all the birds had been vaccinated, showing no ill health and had been monitored...

My krainkoeppes are incredible flyers. They can be stood stationary at my feet and fly up vertically about 9 feet to land neatly on a tree branch above my head. I agree that they are very intelligent also. They seem to love fruit and sweet things a lot more than my other breeds. They were very...

They really are great birds so different to my pekins in personality. They have really grown on me. But boy can they fly!

    Kraienkoeppe Thread!

Hi did u get your birds yet? I managed to snap a couple of new pics of mine as they grow. No eggs yes though. Do you have any pictures if you have got them? The large fowl are lovely but I have only a small back garden so only room for bantams. Plus I keep pekins bantams!

We have porcelain pekins here in the UK. If you look up 'Meg's Eggs' on facebook I believe she has genetics illustrated flow charts for them

Mine also start to lay around 6 months. The ones I hatched in may are just getting ready to lay but it's been awful weather here. Do you let them free range maybe they are laying in an odd place? Is it very cold there and have they had their first moult?
