Well, he's got high protein feed now. If he won't eat it, how can i get it in him?

    Skinny BLRW Rooster

I've ground up the layer feed for him and wet it wth ACV. He hate a small amount, and drank none of the water with vitamins in it. I'll get some game bird feed or chick starter for him today.

    Skinny BLRW Rooster

So what do you feed a flock of hens and a roosters? It has progressed to a refusal to eat, paling of the wattles and comb, and weakness to the point of crawling, instead of standing or walking. Still alert, just getting weaker and not eating....

I take it Protein is the goal then. The layer feed is 16 or 18%. I forget which one. I gave him the cat food because of the higher protein.

    Skinny BLRW Rooster

Hi all. I have a large BLRW rooster who is about 3 years old. Big boy, but super skinny. e has access to the same pasture and feed as all the other ladies (50 or so birds right now) who are mostly fine. A couple of them are skinny too though. I try to set the skinny birds aside in rabbit...

Yeah, my room was acting perfectly fine too. It was entirely by accident that I even noticed them. Glad I did, as I'm sure it wasn't helping, but who knows.

Hmm.... Very interesting. Staph can come from ingrown hairs, which is awfully similar to what you are describing here. I will say though, If the bird is acting fine, then it's likely not worth medicating for I guess. Thans for the update!

Hi there. My 2-3 year old wyandotte too has this on his rose comb. I have had staph on my self several times, and am familiar with what it looks like. I thought this might be the staph as well. My rod had several yellow balls of something protruding from his comb, and when I poked one of...

    Chicken Breed Focus - Wyandotte

My GLW, SLW, and BW are all 4 weeks old today. Their BO companions in the brooder are certainly more adventurous, which is no surprise as their adult counterparts in my flock are the same way. I took the chicks outside today to get some sun. All the other birds were so curious. They would get...
