That looks like a calcium and lime buildup to me. CLR might remove it. Per the instructions you should never use anything but distilled water in this unit.
It has to be reset to 21 in order for it to start working again. If you push the menu button and it showing anything other than 21 when you start it, it hasn’t been reset.
I’m curious, how did the hatch go on these eggs? I have some that I ordered that was shipped to me that are doing the exact same thing. I’ve never had this happen before on any that I hatched from my own hens.

My guineas and young chickens were all hatched on the same day, July 20th. Who knows why, but I suspect some of the other chickens are also in on the feather pulling.
