***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Yes, we definitely have fainting goats. Lots of babies available right now, but no wethers ... we could definitely band them at the age they are. We really need to cut back on all critters soon. We just don't have enough time for all of them, and all the overtime I have to work, and then...

Hi everybody. I haven't had time to look on BYC in probably a month or more, but I remember POOPS! Gerald and I will do our best to stop there before I have to be at work .... sadly I have to work my 10 hours every day of the week including Saturday night, so we can only stop by for maybe an...

I pm'd ya back. Yeah, I'll say Hi to Gerald for ya, when I see him again ... I'm at work now, so it'll have to be in the morning. Yeah, I wish we had more time to go to auctions, like we used to. I miss visiting with ya'll and meeting & visiting with all Okies. Well, I can retire in less...

I'd be willing to bet your dogs were attacked by a mountain lion or cougar. In January, after we had fixed our fence and put electric wire all along the top of our field fence around our acreage, we had 2 baby goats disappear. I just thought maybe they were hiding somewhere. Then a few days...

I just opened up the Okies thread and started reading the last page & see Komondor mentioned. We got our Kom's because Les, aka NNbreeder recommended them so highly. Thanks Les! They really are great guardian dogs. I'm almost certain that one of my Komondor females is pregnant. Hopefully...

I love the goat picture! I sure am glad fainting goats don't do that, or I wouldn't have them. Too bad I can't go to the Blanchard auction .... have to work overtime all weekend.

Hi Rebecca & MJ & all BYC Okies !!! I miss ya'll too. I've been having to work way too much overtime .... 10 hour days (nights) and the only time I get off is every other weekend. I haven't managed a free Saturday night in I don't know how long. It's depressing. I'm stuck at work once again...

    Raising feeder insects

Here's a youtube video of how one lady raises her Blaptica Dubia Cockroaches. My family already thinks I've gone off the deep end with all the critters I have ... I wonder if I were to start raising cockroaches would it alarm them any more ??? My daughter has already threatened that...

You could get free egg flats from many local restaurants just by asking. We used to go to a Waffle House where a waitress would save them for us. Of course, they're used, but I doubt if the roaches would complain. We use the egg flats in our cabinet incubators and throw them away after each hatch.

Someone has Dubia Roaches for sale locally... or at least they're listed on Oklahoha City Craigslist for sale: http://oklahomacity.craigslist.org/pet/2810242713.html I'm almost tempted to try raising some myself after reading Kassaundra's link.

Gerald and I are on our way to Shawnee! We hope to be there by 2 pm. Hopefully we can recognize some of our fellow Okies and hope to meet some more. It's been a long time since we've talked chicken with anyone
