Yes, 10x10 is the minimum size we would consider. This barn will be for animals only. No hay or feed storage. Chickens don't need an 8 foot roost. However, most barns have 10 foot ceilings so that will probably be the way we go. A 30 x 30 barn would be awesome but I don't see that in the budget...
Thanks! I've been brainstorming different ways to keep goats out of chicken feed. That will definitely be a problem I have to solve before adding goats.
Thanks, I'll check it out. For goat fencing I am thinking the wire goat panels. Seems like a decently cheap and easy way to fence for them. The existing fence isn't good for keeping much of anything in or out so we won't be counting on that :)

We are moving to a bigger piece of land soon and will be adding goats. I have been running the same "how to feed chickens and goats separately in the same pen" thing through my head for a couple weeks now. I have really only come up with one decent idea besides what others mentioned here. The...
Thank you. I think we will just work on handling them more often. We just took them outside to play for the first time this weekend. The kids were having fun until one of them got pinched a little too hard :/ Hopefully more handling will help!
The black/white chicks in the middle pictures look like our silver-laced Wyandottes did as tiny babies. We also have buff Orpingtons but they were solid yellow, no darker coloration anywhere like yours have.
Hi Everyone,
Has anyone had any experience raising silver-laced Wyandottes from chicks? I haven't ever had Wyandottes before now but everything I read online said they were pretty gentle. We are kind of having the opposite experience. They are just 5 weeks old now. We have big hens out in the...
