Yes, I did call the hatchery. They tolled me that they never heard about this kind of virus. They buy eggs from different farmers and hatch them. What makes me say it is Parvovirus/Derzsy Disease? When you start losing gosling like this it makes you spent time on internet and dig through it...
Week and a half ago I ordered 12 goslings from Ideal poultry hatchery.
They were :
Gray Saddleback Pomeranians 1male 2 females
Tufted Romans 1 male 2 females
Brown Chinese 1 male 2 females
White Chinese 1 male 2 females
They were so cute and lovely. My kids and I was so happy to see them! I...
I ordered 16 poults from the hatchery. The first 4 weeks they were doing great. Then suddenly I started loosing them, one by one. They look fine one day, eating, drinking and on the very next day very lethargic, standing or laying in one spot, feathers down and head deep in the shoulders and...
Thank you very much for advice. Now it looks like all chicks are infected. I separated all my 25 6week old pullets from 25 10 weeks old I bought. Almost all making all kinds of noises. I think, I might brought something in to my flock with the once I bought.
My 6 weeks old pullets were just fine. I relocated them from the brooder box into the shed. They were fine there for a week. Then I got 25 10 week old from a person who sold me them. I got them couple of days ago when the cold front kicked in. For 4 cold nights they were all together in a small...
No egg eaters. I go to their area at least 4-5 times a day to check. No shells, no wet spots. Sorry, no singing in the flock besides Leg Horns :-) Yes, 37 weeks and no eggs. Feel like a failure.
No, they are not hiding the eggs. I tried to keep them in the hen house but they turn the nests in to a pure mess. They dig and dig and dig. They take all hey out of and the older hens cannot go and lay eggs. This is another question I wanted to ask. How to keep young pullets not to dig in the...
Thanks for your reply. Last year was my first year having chickens. I ordered top 5 heritage egg layers and they did fantastic job! This year, I don't know what got in to me..........and "what kind of bug bit me".
I already asked this question, but nothing changed since then. I have the following breeds Wellsummers, Barnevelders, Partridge Rocks, Black Australorps and Silver Cuckoo Marans. They are exactly 37 weeks old. Didn't see a single egg out of them. What is going on? I did put so much good quality...
No. Nothing. All my hens are in a very nice an quite place. They eat good, have fresh water and they are free range. All other breeds laying, except those 4 breeds.
I have 3 Prtridge Rocks, 2 Barnevelders, 4 Wellsummers and 2 Silver Cocoo Maran Hens. They are all almost 8m old. Shouldn't they lay eggs by now? Not a single egg out of them. They are all very beautiful ok, but if they don't lay eggs what profit out of them? Only for show? Does anybody have...
