Hen with sour crop and scab

Hello! Our hen has sour crop (her breath smells very sour) and we’re keeping her in overnight. We also found this strange scab-looking thing on her stomach — could possibly have been from a hawk a while back? Any advice is appreciated.

    Wounded Chicken Recovery

this was her (after being disinfected, which is why it looks like… that.) the wound was very wide, and we believe it started out ok until she kept tearing it more and more open throughout the day. haven’t been able to get a picture of the wound yet post stitching.

    Wounded Chicken Recovery

Our chicken was attacked by a hawk, we thought she was fine but a couple hours later discovered a bad gash. I believe what was visible was the “brisket” of chicken in meat terms. We treated her by cleaning the wound and stitching her up. She is sleeping inside in a dog crate. It is covered and...

    Cream Legbars not laying!!

We got our chicks in late april, and three of them (2 Cream Legbars, 1 Brahma) haven’t started laying. I’m less concerned about the brahma since from my experience they’re just plain weird and do whatever they feel like. The legbars, though? My last one did a great job of laying and was the...

    Hard black thing

My ~2 month old chicken has a little hard black thing on her beak, and it’s surrounded by flesh like it’s really… in there. I know scabs are usually raised but this thing is in her, kind of. I’ve tried just sort of rubbing it but it is absolutely not loose, I don’t even know what it is. I am a...

    Is this normal?

I’m a paranoid chicken mama and noticed this weird bump thing next to my (almost) 2 month old chicken’s eye. The first to photos are what it looks like, the third is the other side of her face for comparison. Is it anything to worry about? If so, what is it? I’m overly paranoid thinking it’s a...

URGENT - 2 week chick having trouble pooping

Nearly two weeks old, she has had a slightly sour smell from her mouth for about a week now. We haven’t figured it out until now but it started a couple of days ago, when she tries to poop it takes her a while and her wings hand a bit, when she pushes she chirps like the strain hurts, although...

URGENT - Four day old with sour crop

They were mailed and have been only eating their starter feed- the one we’re using right now isn’t medicated. It might not be sour crop, but her breath/beak area definitely smells sour and unpleasant. Is there any other reason that could be?

URGENT - Four day old with sour crop

Our four or five day old chick is smelling like she has sour crop, her crop is empty atm. She was fine yesterday and isn’t acting any different, but all the remedies I find are for adults. Going to monitor if she’s eating/pooping. What should I do?
