    Is this severe vent gleet?

This started a few weeks ago with my hen. I noticed she was smelly so I took a look at her vent and noticed some cheese/egg looking substance crusted on/around her vent. I cleaned it off and after learning about vent gleet I applied anti-fungal cream. She was fine for a while but now it has come...

    Partially removed bumblefoot stone

Hen with bumblefoot. Swollen foot pad with the typical scabbed stone. I soaked the foot 2x, but the stone would not loosen. I ended up picking about 65% of it out with tweezers in an attempt to avoid cutting healthy tissue. There was blood. After, I treated and bandaged the area, without...

    Enrofloxacin (Baytril) vs. Penicillin

Okay. Pictures posted. Thanks for asking me to do that. I spotted something that I missed before.

    Enrofloxacin (Baytril) vs. Penicillin

Would it be okay for me to use enrofloxacin or Tylan 200 as an antibiotic for my rooster instead of penicillin antibiotics like PenG and Amoxicillin? Would penicillin G sodium salts work in place of any of these? His foot is swollen and smells unpleasant. I think it might be an infection...

    Help, Eye worm questions

I had a rooster with eyeworm, and VetRX didn't work for him. Corid (amprolium) is used to treat coccidiosis, an infection of coccidian protozoa. However, I'm not sure it's effective as a dewormer in most cases. What did work very well for my rooster was Valbazen (albendazole 11.36%, 113.6...

Is it fine for a chicken to be on Corid (amprolium) and Tylan (tylosin) at the same time?

I'm giving my rooster injections of Tylan 200, but I also wanted to give him Corid orally, just in case he has coccidiosis. Is this fine, or will it cause a negative reaction? Would the affects be the same if the Tylan were oral?

Lethargic BO Rooster Not Digesting Food in Crop, Barely Eating

My Buff Orpington rooster is 4 years old. His health suddenly turned over about a 1 day period, as far as I know. He developed the following problems: Undigested food in crop Light green, watery poop (probably colored by bile, with lack of solids due to food not being passed down from crop)...

What could be wrong with this hen's feet?

Thank you. The thing that looks like a scab here is likely just dirt. Her hocks are not swollen. I think she does have some trouble getting up to the roost.

What could be wrong with this hen's feet?

The hen walks stiffly and her feet look somewhat knotty. She can climb up to the roost, but doesn't like jumping down, which suggests that her feet are in pain. She's about 3 years old, and first started noticeably having trouble with her legs/feet at about 1 and 1/2 - 2 years of age. The...

Hen is weak, but eating and drinking.

My hen "Miss Moses" is about 3 years old, I believe. Her health seemed to take a dive around the time it got cold, so I've been keeping her in the house during the colder times of the day. It's been a several days since she stopped walking around much. She's still alert, but she stays sitting...

Is cydectin safe for use on a chicken's eye for eye worm?

Thank you so much! This is really helpful. PS: I meant that he moves his neck and head away really skillfully whenever I try to clean his eye or open his mouth. It was a cheesy comparison.

Is cydectin safe for use on a chicken's eye for eye worm?

Thanks. I'm located in Texas. Hundreds of chickens have been raised on the farm where I am, but there have probably been 5 or less cases of this happening.

Is cydectin safe for use on a chicken's eye for eye worm?

My rooster, Makoi, has eyeworm. I've seen a few people say that you can put valbazen, a cattle dewormer, directly on a chickens eye and it will kill the worm. Clean the eye afterwards. Can I use cydectin in place of valbazen? My immediate priority is to kill the worm inside his eye, if I have...
