Aww, man. Everyone keeps telling me to look on Craigslist, but there isn’t really anything on there. Plenty of chickens, goats, pigs, & whatever else, but of course not ducks. I guess not many people have them around here.
Exactly! I’m convinced that my duck likes to pick on me quite a bit, because he KNOWS I don’t want him getting into things in the floor, but he still does. & it seems like it’s a game, like you said. :gig
He also likes to get into the dog bowls, when his food & water is right there. :barnie &...
I have a Mudi. They’re bred from Puli, Pumi, & German Spitz, so they have a lot of fluff, but it also can get matted up into like a dreadlock. He’s just a really weird dog, haha. No matter how much I brush him, there’s always more fur. Again, I’m definitely relieved to hear that others go...
Wow, they’re so beautiful! I’ve been watching this whole time, & raising a wood duck of my own.
I think my baby is just a little behind yours. She’s been inside & is extremely attached to me, though. I’ve got to move her out to a pen soon, & let her adjust to being outside before I can even...
It’s a real issue! At least it’s not just me, haha. Thanks for easing my mind, I was worried. Good thing is that he is DEFINITELY pooping, a lot at that! I guess it is true that they eat all kinds of things outside. But the little duck seems alright. I just had to make sure there wouldn’t be any...
I have a duck who stays inside with me & I constantly have people telling me about the ‘risks.’ He is always with me, all over me, & even sleeps with me. & of course, I ‘kiss’ him. I’ve never had anything bad happen. I do keep everything very clean, & wash my hands A LOT. As long as you practice...
So I have a dog inside who constantly sheds & hairballs end up in the floor a lot. My little duck is also inside, & roams around the house. I vacuum the house religiously but there are still almost always hairballs in the floor. Just a minute ago, the duck picked one up off of the ground before...
That’s what I was confused about, because I did think it was past the point where the eye color changes (but I wasn’t sure) & in pictures you can see the yellow ring forms before the color change, & then it changes after to red too. There isn’t a ring or anything yet though. Is there something...
You hunt juvenile wood ducks? All juveniles look more similar to hens, I know that. The big difference between a male juvenile & a female juvenile isn’t until the eyes & the rings change colors, but mine hasn’t even gotten the ring yet. Originally, I was asking why is it taking so long & when...
Okay, thanks! How do you know? It is a juvenile & personally I was getting mixed signals because whenever I look it up some people say that the white strip going up the face 100% means a male, but some others say that because it’s lighter it’s a female. I was following others on here who are...
Hi everyone, I’ve been raising a Wood duck for almost 10 weeks now, & I’m a little confused about some things. I’m really trying to figure out how old it is & what sex it is. I was waiting patiently for the yellow ring to form around the eye, but I have yet to see that happen. I thought it would...
Does anyone have any ducks I can have/buy? I’m in North FL, around Panama City. I have one lonely little duck who really needs some friends & I’m having trouble finding any for sale anywhere.
