That would actually make more sense… the one I assumed to be at the top is basically just hanging out while everything is going on.

I decided today is the day for my to take down the barriers in the look not touch areas of the coop/run after about two weeks. The little ones are 7 ish weeks old (3 pullets one cockerel). So far there has been pecking and chasing which is expected. How long before they really start to work it...

This chick is just under 5 weeks old and is visibly bigger than the others… what do you think? I thought this would be a bit early for the comb development as well, thanks for the help!

4 week old RIR this one seems suspicious to me. They were sold as pullets at tractor supply. This picture it is lifting its head more than it normally does. But it is a bit bigger than the others

After some thought, I think I’m going to add maybe a 4x4 lean to addition on to my existing coop. This way I can block it off with wire for introduction and after introduction I can take down the walls and use it as shared space. Rather than building a hutch I may as well just do a small addition.

I wasn’t expecting to see the feathers to start so soon

Ideally I want to put the entire hutch into the run for a bit

The coop is approximately 35 sq ft and the hutch I was just going to build something small… maybe something like 2ft by 4 ft… not exactly sure how big I should make the hutch exactly and also enclosing the bottom for a small run next to the other run
