Minh's Free Photo Resizer (try it)

Minh T. Nguyen has made a new version (1.5) of PhotoResizer. It is a very small program that does a great job and is simple to use. It now allows you to select the pictures you want to resize (ctrl+click) and then right-click and choose "send-to|PhotoResizer" and it will resize the pictures...

    Snake trap?

Quote: You are mistaken... the snake disapears with your fake eggs, but he very rarely ever dies from a fake egg. They just throw them back up. I have watched them do it. I use golf balls in my nest to keep the hens laying in them while I take their eggs every day. And occasionally I will find...

Quote: Could you provide me with your sources for this information? I've heard that before to but I'm not sure I believe it. When examining the label I have never noticed there being a difference between whole vs. cracked corn I just wondered if there is actually any studies done on this or...

baits to use to trap coons

everytime I used sardines in my trap I always caught box turtles. Most people don't realize turtles love sardines! Coons like, Jelly, marshmallows, and fruit flavored yogurt. Coons like to crawl all over your trap and many times this will throw it and you will miss your catch. To prevent this...

    Nite Guard Solar...Anyone have experience?

They are worthless. Save your money for traps or a fence. I have had owls kill chickens with a niteguard light sitting right next to them on top of a pen. I also set traps every night and the traps are in plain view of the blinking lights and I still catch varmints about once a week. One...

Don't let anyone tell you that you can't catch a fox in a live trap. I have caught two. Albeit young ones... the old ones won't generally fall for it. But the young ones will. Here is what you do. Take some "u-shaped" stakes (I make them by cutting up some steel electric fence stakes and bend...

    Hawk help needed

Has anyone had any luck raising pigeons as decoys? Perhaps the hawks would prey on the pigeons rather than your prized chickens.

    Spraddle/Splay Legged Rooster?

There were no changed that I can think of when he came down spraddle legged. There were two hens with hiim as well. They never got it. I've seen it in the past, it has always been older roosters, never hens that get it. The chicks... I'm leaning towards believing that it was a vitamin...

    Spraddle/Splay Legged Rooster?

What causes a cock to suddenly come down with spraddle/splay legs? I also noticed my last batch of chicks in the incubator had to be destroyed due to this. Is it a viral or bacterial infection or a vitamin deficiency? ... and in the case of the old brood cock, can it be cured? thanks in advance

Anyone know where to get glass eggs for snakes to eat

I have also heard of people putting fishing hooks with string attached inside of eggs and catching snakes that way. The only other option you have is to snake proof your nest box.

Anyone know where to get glass eggs for snakes to eat

Fake eggs, golf balls, etc. are not the answer. Snakes will simply throw them back up if they can't digest them. You might try putting poison inside of some real eggs... but make sure you put them where your chickens can't get them, if the "doctored" eggs break the chickens will eat them.

Sick and tired of people not locking they dogs up...

Get some large conibear traps and take them around to your neighbors and tell them your having varmint problems and you are going to be setting the traps all around your property and you would recommend that they keep their dogs tied up.
