Does anyone have only ONE breed?

We have production reds and what TSC calls Asian blacks. I guess we have mutts. They are all healthy, good layers and cold hardy. Been looking at other breeds but I know it can be hard to introduce new birds into the flock and we don’t want multiple coops.

    Pullet or cockerel?

Interesting. We don’t have anyone with a large comb/ wattle and don’t know if it’s breed specific. Some of the skin on their faces is starting to turn red’ish but none are screaming future roo to me. When do saddle feathers start to show or become obviously roo’ish?

    Pullet or cockerel?

Too young for tail feathers? Guess we’ll give it a few more weeks. Thank you!

    Pullet or cockerel?

    Pullet or cockerel?

Our flock is about 9 weeks old, mixed production reds and Asian blacks. Have a few suspected cockerels. Thanks for your help!

    Hi! 👋

Newly minted chicken lady here. Wanted chickens for a while and isolation pushed me to do.... just like everyone else in RI! Starting with 6 production reds and 6 Asian blacks. Surely we have a couple of cockerels, just can’t tell yet. All but two are friendly, 1 very bossy chicken. She’ll be...

    TSC Asian black pullets

I have no idea yet! Seems all the other breed hints don’t apply to this type of chicken. Read the article featured on the main page about roosters. Very informative!

    TSC Asian black pullets

These look just like our Asian Blacks from TSC. Here they are as chicks and now. Our flock is half Asians and half Production Reds.
