    Chicks/poults dying in lockdown

The nurture rite is horrible to clean lol but after every hatch, I let the bottom soak with hot water and dawn and a touch of bleach and rinse ALOT. I wipe down the lid with alcohol. I don’t understand it, everyone has amazing results with the nurture rite and it seems to kill all mine 😭 I...

    Chicks/poults dying in lockdown

Hey everyone, I am at my wits end with this! I have a Farmers innovation incubator that I fill with eggs. They look healthy at all stages and I move them to my hatcher which is a Nurture rite 360. 75% of the eggs die during lockdown or right after internally pipping. I do dry hatch so it...

Chicks healthy for a few weeks, then die, all from same person

Curious if anyone has seen this before. I’ve noticed a group of chicks from the same flock seem totally fine and then just die. Out of probably 15, two have reached maturity. Some die within 2 weeks, the others that last longer I’ve noticed are very slow to feather out but otherwise...

    Unresolved vent issue in pullet

One of my Bantam Cochin hens seems to have an issue I can’t resolve. I have already had her separated out and on a round of antibiotics. Her temperament is usually very docile so she seems to be doing ok. Same symptoms as last time, her vent looks a little swollen. Some stuck poop on one...

    Columbian Bantam Cochin breeding?

I received this boy as a gift. I don’t know anything about the Columbian gene and there doesn’t appear to be many Columbian Bantam Cochins. Should I try and find a Columbian girl? Or possibly breed him with the other Cochins I have? ( mottled, black, calico) Not really sure where to go from...

    Serama Wattle torn

Serama got his wattle all torn up. It looks split on one side, but not all the way thru. Would it be best to keep it clean and apply meds and let nature do it’s thing, or is this a case where it should be trimmed off?
