    Barred Rock Rooster - Free!

Well we ended up with a rooster out of the three barred rock chicks we bought a couple of months ago. Can't have roosters in my area so looking for a new home as the first option, we all know option two... :) Anyway, I live in the Spokane Valley area of Eastern WA... If there's anyone around...

What are the laws/regulations for selling table eggs (for consumption) in your state/country?

'Must have' is a bit misleading... Exceptions Poultry producers who sell eggs from their own flocks at the place of production directly to household consumers don’t need to be licensed.

    Couple of sick girls...

Started that this weekend... using Pig Swig to start, see where that goes. Gave the two girls in question a bath yesterday, got them cleaned up a bit. No visible bugs or mites, vents looked okay. Gladys, the puffy one, seems pretty tight in the belly... she's at least a bit more active than Moe...

    Couple of sick girls...

I'll even include a photo! So, introductions... the red's left to right... Moe, Fred & Gladys. I'm concerned with Moe and Gladys, both going on about 4 years old. Moe's comb is really looking rough, getting a bit purplish with white tips, very poopy butt similar to Gladys' and is not eating...

    Sour crop???

And if the hen is not eating? You syringe all that down the gullet? I'll ask it again... how do you get a chicken to eat when it's just not in the mood? Bird won't eat or drink.

    Sour crop???

Hi all... I've got a girl here, a hybrid red, whose got the balloon crop thing going on, probable sour crop I'm thinking... isolated her last night. Crop still messed up this morning and she won't eat or drink. Tried the olive oil soaked bread and some yogurt but she won't eat anything at all...

    Can't change my password.....

So weird ... tried IE and Firefox both, original issue was in Chrome, ... same result, didn't enter the old password correctly. Although I can sign on with it! Just so strange... I'll try and run it through an 'I can't remember my password' gyration and see if that will reset/correct what's...

    Can't change my password.....

So what's the deal? I log in ... all's good, password is fine. Go to my profile and account settings and hit the 'change password' link. Put in the password I just used to log in with and the new password and it tells me my old password is incorrect. Well that's just stupid as I just logged on...

    Possible frostbite?

Just read a bit on Banixx and it says it's safe to use around the eye... so that might be a way to go if I can find it.

    Possible frostbite?

Take a look folks ... opinions appreciated. Picture is worth a thousand words so see what you think. Am I looking at a frostbite situation here? And what to do??? Notice the black spot in the center there? Well that was on both sides, so the caring chicken owner that I am put a little...

Apple cider vinegar...how often and how much?

Good one! :) I generally marinade in salt, some Dakota Buckaroo (liquid smoke) and some vinegar... don't need the raw ACV for that though. Must be time for dinner, getting hungry!

Apple cider vinegar...how often and how much?

It's good for their digestion and internal systems ... and it does keep the slime out of the water. If you search this forum for raw acv you'll find plenty to read regarding apple cider vinegar.

Apple cider vinegar...how often and how much?

Well you want the ACV with the mother in it first off... my only hesitation would be how young the chicks are. I give raw ACV to my girls in their water and/or oatmeal treats... just a dab, maybe a tablespoon.... a couple in the water. For the chicks you'd want just a tiny bit depending on the...
