For those of us who live in remote areas with limited access to quickly getting supplies, what are the "must have" medical supplies and treatments you keep on hand for emergencies and convenience? I am particularly interested in treatments for common chicken illnesses and injuries, best...
Dogs with Horses a close 2nd. My 110 lb pup (11 years old) is my constant companion. A dog's love is the most unconditional love a human will ever experience. A dog will sacrifice its life to save yours....not so with horse (they are prey animals after all) but I am devoted to them just as well!
The boys are sweet but stubborn....LOL They are much larger than they appear. I am standing on a 3 foot stone wall! I want a Georgian Grande but a specific cross of 1/2 Saddlebred and 1/2 Percheron (2 great temperaments with energy, strength, endurance and calm). Some people collect cars or...
Dremel with cut-off wheels.....fast with clean accurate cuts......for added measure I use a putty knife or 5-in-1 tool and gently tap in the cut edge into the wood frame. www.youtube.com/watch?v=sWvXd-00zhg
I had a similar problem. Nesting boxes were still used during the day but they suddenly refused to return to the coop to roost at night. Although I didn't see any tell-tale signs of parasites in the coop I decided to do a thorough cleaning and wash-down with Permethrin...
Thank you for your responses. I had planned to put shavings on top of the interlocking mats but all your responses are very valid! I like the maintenance aspect of vinyl flooring but don't look forward to the glue down process. The HDPE is a great idea and I will explore pricing options. The...
I am in the process of building a new coop and run and have been evaluating options for easy maintenance coop flooring. The coop will be 6x6 and elevated 2 feet above ground with standard residential construction framing with two 24 inch wide doors for ease of access. I have considered laying...
I have a leghorn, a breed which lays daily with few exceptions. The only time mine stopped laying was when she went broody (which is rare for the breed). If she isn't broody and isn't laying but is walking funny (bow legged), I would be concerned that she may be egg bound.
There are a lot of litter scoopers that have smaller criss-cross openings. Check out Amazon or the Big Box Pet Store websites. Also if you gently "roll" the poop in the PZD, sand or litter it holds together better for removal.
