My ducks have a nice pen that they stay in to sleep, and they are in there about half the day when I'm not around (but when I am home they free range). But they ripped out all the grass in their pen, so right now it is all mud, and no grass at all. Should I put pine shaving all over the mud or...
Every time I go to pet my duck it lays it's whole body on the ground (head and neck too) and it will just sit there and I will keep petting it and then it quacks pretty quite. What does that mean when she does that?
My duck recently has been very loud quacking, she usually isn't this bad, but is there any way that I could do something to make her quieter? Like more free range time or toys/bells, or a larger pool???
And also I have it so my ducks can't have any contact with the baby duckling they can only hear but they can't touch it at all, so I made sure they wouldn't get any diseases the baby might have had

I just bought a mallard duck for my Pekin and the mallard is smaller than the Pekin and my Pekin keeps kinda pecking at her feathers and feet, but I truly don't think she is trying to be mean about it, I have had theses two together for about 15 minutes and the mallard is already following the...
Is it normal for them to do that?
Update: they are getting better and better; the pecks aren't even happening, but why did she do that in the beginning?
