OK, maybe I shouldnt have sounded off like I had it all figured out, because I dont.
Surely someone more knowledgeable than I, who has only read a good textbook on chicken health, is on board this forum and read this post.

I have 32 chickens I free range on an acre, yep there is poo everywhere but the only accumulation that really bothers me is around the bar b que area, porch and deck. those hose off easily though. My chickens are very spoiled and we are considering fencing them out of certain areas this year...

They hatched last Sept. and just started laying last month, beautiful brown, pink, and blue tinted little pullet eggs, I am so proud of them!

I will be getting some barred rock, golden sex link, and SLW pullets next week. when I requested them they were 3 week olds but the lady hasnt been able to get to my area for her regular delivery for 2 weeks, so, the brooder box I put together for them may be too small.
