Hi kspot sorry
for my ignorance but is this like something you can use on cats and dogs or specific for chickens. Just when you say spot on I immediately thought of those revolutions drops for my cat
Hi I'm sorry if this has been posted before or in the wrong place but with a 1yr old at my feet time is the essence. What product is best used in Australia that is readily available to treat mites? Also do they live in the grass area around the coop or just the coop and the chickens? I feel...
Hi everyone. I have introduced this hen to my other chickens. All went pretty well. No pecking just a bit of running each other away. My question is how old do you think this chicken is? When I got her she was listed as 13weeks about 3 weeks ago. Just wondering if any of you agree or disagree...
Hi I'm new here and don't know much but just wanted to say that sounds awful for your chicken. Did Your chicken survive this today. You are not have the best of weeks. :(
Thanks. That adorable one is named Fifi. Unfortunately the other chook died on Wednesday. We also have a black silkie but hope to introduce another chook (breed unknown)
Hi sorry to report an hour after posting this "cheeky" was found dead. We have had a few deaths but this was harder as she was the head of the flock and seemed so hardy compared to the others.
So yesterday we got our first egg. We originally thought it was the silkie, then decided it must of been the Golden Comet as she was squatting yesterday and this morning didn't come out of the coop whereas the other two roamed the backyard as per normal. However now we are unsure who is laying...
Lol. Ok to clarify it's not the silkie laying eggs. It's actually the Golden comet. She is the one that's always in the box. The other two are still roaming the backyard as usual. The golden comet is also squatting a lot. My daughter found the first egg and at the time the black silkie was in...
Thanks. We are happy to know we have a good egg layer in the red sex link (golden comet). I'm thinking the other is a cross breed ? we also have a black silkie. We got her first egg yesterday but looked a little green?
I use sand in the inside upper level where the perches are and underneath in the run. So easy to scoop out poos and have a cleaner and better smelling coop. We use straw in nesting boxes though. It's a cheaper alternative and great when it rains as the sand drys out and we were throwing out too...
Hi I am from Victoria, Australia. I have 3 chickens and only one I know which breed it is as it's a silkie and will be posting that question as to what the other two may be soon. Is there anyone else in this site from Australia?
