    my peahen

I guess I might be exaggerating a little. I have a no trespassing sign and beware of dog signs too. But people do like their privacy and I respect that. Most people are friendly when I am out riding the horse. Well I figure she wandered here about 7 or 8 months ago and adopted us so if she chose...

I might get dog bit or shot if I do that. Everyone has no trespassing signs and beware of dog signs. I have asked around when someone is outside.

    Cornish Jumbo Rocks.

I have raised this type in the past but don't really know the best way to feed them. I fed chick start crumbles until near time to butcher. My new chicks should come in at the feed store this week end. The crumbles have anti-biotics. Sure could use some suggestions of what is the best feed for...

    my peahen

I have been looking for them. I ride my horse all over in the area we live in. It is rural and surrounded by farms that grow potatoes and cabbage. There used to be a group of peas that were wild but they are gone now. Many were shot. That was some years ago. There are a lot of dogs in the...

    my peahen

Well, I joined just awhile back to get some answers about my acquired peahen. We bought a juvenile male thinking this would keep her from wandering. Sometimes she would go missing for about a week at a time. We kept him penned up for about a week then turned him loose in the yard. He stayed for...

    Question about my peacock

If he is tame enough to be picked up he probably does not realize what he can do. We were thinking that too. He has flight feathers but I haven't looked at the ends of his wings.

    Question about my peacock

I bought a 9 month old male to add with my peahen 2 weeks ago. I kept him in a coop for more than a week. I turned him out yesterday and he seemed content to socialize with everyone. When it came evening the hen flew up into a try as did the free range chickens. He never tried. So we picked him...

what kind of chicken is she?

Easter eggers, sounds good to me. She lays greenish blue eggs. Well, it has been a long time since she layed. Her name is chick-pea! And is just a pet. I am afraid to let her out. I put a dish pan in the other end of the cage with dirt so she can scratch and take a dust bath. She likes her...

what kind of chicken is she?

She is pretty! She looks like a Belgian quail d'Anvers to me. There is a thread for d'Anvers: https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/272737/danver-lovers-discuss-the-breed-and-post-some-pics/5510 It is active and long! You can post your pic there to verify- there are some breeders who hang out...

what kind of chicken is she?

I got her at the feed store a couple of years ago. She is the smallest chicken I have ever seen. She was weak and cold because the other chicks were picking on her so the guy at the feed store said I could have her. I put her inside my shirt and brought her home.

what kind of ph is she

Thanks, she just showed up at our place about 7 months ago. We bought a juvenile male. She hangs around with him but then she pecks him, so he decided to go to back the safety of his pen. He is supposedly to have black shoulder in him. Mostly he is blue.
