    I have 3 bantam cochins (pekins) and it says in all the books they cant fly but even with clipped wings they still manage it!

    Thanks everyone, so far so good its been over a week now and shes still sitting tight, I also have a black bantam orpington sitting too, moved her last night so will see how that goes.

    Hi I have a pekin (bantam cochin) and a bantam orpington sitting on eggs, they are from last years september hatch. Do I trust them to hatch some eggs as i have been told not to trust first year broodies?

    My rooster attacked my dogs!

    Ha ha, our pekin cockerel likes to chase my friends dog around our allotment, she is a border collie and does not like other dogs but wouldnt stand up to our cockerel!

    Hi Due to the loss of four full size chickens to an unknown source i am now left with a light sussex full size hen, 3 peking hens, 1 peking cockerel and an orpington bantam hen.     Is it a fox?

    The gate goes into the allotment and is locked and shut when we arent there and the run gate is always open so they can get back in the hen house. I might go and sit and wait for he culprit!

    chicks in incubator, when to put in brooder?

    My last 2 chicks were born this am, they are still in the incubator but it is realy dirty and smelly and im a bit worried that they might catch an infection. Is it safe to put them in the brooder, they are starting to fluff up.

    Thats terrible its bad enough having to wait 21days but losing them all so close is bad
