you can sprinkle diatomaceous earth into all parts of the coop it won't hurt the chickens and it will kill any bug or insect that come in contact with it and you can also dust the chickens with it for control of mites etc. good good stuff and it is also a good wormer

I use apple cider vinegar in the water for my pigeons,chickens and goats and have for along
time, it has several benefits in keeping healthy pets.I give a half teaspoon to a gallon of
water to pigeons and chickens and about half a cup to the 16 gal.water bucket for goats
twice a month.
