Hi Nabiki, I’ve just soaked their feet in epsom salt and really I don’t think they have bumblefoot. However, I did find the joint above their middle foot is red and a bit swollen. Do you know what it is and how to treat it? Many thanks!
Sorry about the blurry pic, I’ve taken a clearer one. I’ll try soaking their feet in epsom salt water. Can you please let me know how many times a day should they be soaked and in how many days can the plug be taken out?
I followed your advice and cleaned their legs in warm epsom salt water. They both have this one dot on one of the feet but the thing is the dot does not hurt them when we rub on it.
My quail chicks had problem walking before, I put vitamin D drop in water for them to drink and magically they stood up walking normally after a few days.
Please find some pics of their feet and legs and videos of them walking. I think the issue might lie in the feet as they borh are very hesitant putting the feet down; and once down, the feet curl up instead of placing plat on ground. Maybe the feet hurt?
Hello all, one of my quails started hobbling on her left leg while the toes on her right leg curled up before putting on ground. I checked but there was no injuries on the right leg or anywhere on her body. She walked like that for several weeks then it got worse, she now walks with her both...
I ended up locking them up in the coop that rainy and windy night and they seem to be more comfortable with it now, going in and out more often, but still spend more time outside. Will see :):). Thanks for your inputs.
Thanks! How small are your boxes? I do not get it yet what differences they are between coop and small box from a quail's perspectives? Mine is not really a coop though, more like a dog house.
