    Abandoned broody hen egg. I have been incubating it since April 3. I don't know how far along it is. Maybe day 16? I was going to start lock down today but it looks too early. Help!!

    I have a Mallard who has been laying eggs in a little nest she built under a brush/log pile. She is free range during the day.Usually I put her and the drake away at night to keep them safe.Every night she is right there w her mate ready to be hearded in for the night.     Hi! We are just putting the finishing touches on our newly built "Poultry Palace". We will have a pen just for the Silkies. Right now it is just an empty pen. I have never had adult Silkies so I'm not sure what to put in there for them as far a low perch? Or nothing? Just lots of bedding (hay)...

    I think so too! For hatchery chicks I think they are pretty nice. One is missing a toe on one foot though! They are just for pets so its ok!
