    All six of my chicks survived... only one of them had it bad and after the first couple clean ups it gradually went away. Even my smallest one survived... though she is a bit dumber than the others. :)

    @drumstick diva- the stuffed doggy is very washable, he's been washed a million times. It was my oldest favorite so it would get gross quick. My son no longer even looks at it now that he's older, and he's approved this use. He thinks its cool that they sleep under it like it's a hen.

    I put a stuffed puppy in the box with the chicks where they tend to bunk down to sleep and they love to use it as a roost, as well as sleep underneath of it. <3

    What if the umbilical cord is still stuck, but it's under the poop? If I remove it will it hurt the chick?
