Severed toe tip, unsure what to do

I do have freezing temps, but I haven't had any recently. And thank you! I will try to get ahold of some and let the toe fall on its own time.

Severed toe tip, unsure what to do

Hello, so I am back because I had ANOTHER predator get at my chickens about 3 days ago :he The only ones in the crossfire were my two young brahma hens. One is now missing, and this one sustained only an injury to the toe. She somehow managed to sever the skin and muscle around the toe ( I'm...

    Sickly RIR hen, pls help!

Hello, I've been noticing issues with my roughly 3 year old RIR hen. I'm not sure when it started exactly, but she has had a poopy but for about a week or two now I believe. I didn't think much of it since we've had some heat, but very recently she has developed other symptoms. She is panting...

    HELP!! Leaking navel!

Hello thank you for the reply! Sadly we euthanized him because it was indeed his navel. (I cleaned it to be sure and it leaked infront of me) within minutes it swelled horribly and began to bleed, which led to him to continuously chirp out of what I assume was pain : (

    HELP!! Leaking navel!

Hello, I have a chick about a week old and I am treating his crooked leg. He won't eat pellets so I've been feeding him egg yolk mixed with water. He's real talkative and eats the mixture own his own, so I thought he was getting better. Well, when I came to visit him he had a real thick yolk...

    Trouble breathing

Final update on this thread. Arthur, the chick in question, very, very, very sadly did happen to pass away by a hawk attack at around 3 months old. He was a very sweet chick and loved to be cuddled and had absolutely no health issues. He fully recovered and did very well up until his passing :)

    Hatching right now, HELP!

Assuming they are chickens the humidity should be 60-65% or they risk shrink wrapping

    Chick with messed up leg!!!

Sorry for posting so much, but I'm new to hatching and very worried :barnie This chick JUST hatched, and has a leg that seems to be oddly bowed? He's laying on it, and the wing on the same side is put like he's trying to get some support from it. Can I somehow fix this?

    Pipped but no progress???

Alright! He apparently was an early hatcher and his umbilical cord still had blood in it. Once he broke it off I put flour on it and it stopped bleeding! He's up and running now :celebrate

    Pipped but no progress???

He's begun to zip! But his beak is facing the fat end of the shell and he seems to not be able to rotate. Is it supposed to be facing that way? Is he mispositioned?

    Pipped but no progress???

Hey guys, I'm hatching some chicks and it's gone really well so far, but one chick is struggling. It pipped 12 hours ago and made no further progress. It's alive, chirping and sticking It's beak out of the pip hole, but not zipping. I want to help but I'm not sure if it's still absorbing the egg...
