I used coconut oil around the edges and that helped moisten the membrane so I could peel it off of my chick when she got stuck. I worked slowly and was able to free her. Picture is her right after the hatch, and later this week-she’s the lavender Orpington on the right.
If you click through the settings there’s hu setting that is adjustable so that you can turn up the humidity at the end for hatching. Didn’t know this at first but figured it out later.
My oldest three are all four years old this year and they still lay eggs every 1-2 days or so. They are my first and oldest, so my only experience. One Barred Rock and two Rhode Island Reds. When I check their nest box I usually find two eggs.
I had one like that and after days of no change I assumed it was a quitter so I threw it out. If it doesn’t change and looks behind the others in development I’m guessing it just started to develop and then quit.
I looked there-they’re much like the Welsummer but wasn’t sure the coloring was spot on and these are tinier than my Blue Laced Wyandotte, the Marans, or the Orpington. Are Welsummers much smaller? The eggs were same size.
They are the speckled ones in the middle-the dark ones were Marans the chick from my Blue Laced Wyandotte is still attached to that shell. I’m keeping Welsummer on the list, but not absolutely sure yet. I’ll add another picture since they’re older now.

I have some new hatchlings, one is Lavender Orpington, one is a cross between my Blue Laced Wyandotte roo and Black Australorp hen, two are French Black Copper Maran, and two were “gifted” to me and are a surprise. I’m guessing as to what they are, and looking for opinions. Please and thank you!
