I appreciate the concern. It's nice to have found a group that understands the bond between person and duck :) Yes...the change in his behaviour actually concerned me as much as, if not more than, the swelling did. He's a little jerk sometimes, but he's my little jerk :) -

He's definitely not being himself. I left a message with his vet. Antibiotics will probably be the best bet. For now, I've added a bit of apple cider vinegar to his drinking water. -

Ill I know what your saying closest Avian vet to us is 3hrs away. you could try some Baytril or Oxytetracycline. I haven't had to ever give any of my water fowl an antibiotic but have had to some of my chickens and I have used Baytril mostly. If you go to Poultry Pedia they have a list of meds... -

He does have an avian vet he's seen before. Unfortunately we moved a couple hours away from where their office is. I'm assuming antibiotics will be needed as well. I have tried looking in his mouth and throat a few times. There's nothing I can see. However, he doesn't make looking an easy task... -
