Thank u. So gutted. A couple wobbled so i popped them back in incubator.
My last two hatches have been awful. I buy eggs and they get posted to me. Im collected the next lot to see if its helps
I am so upset with myself.
I had Rhode Island Reds and French Cooper Marans in to hatch. Absolute disaster...
They were due to hatch yest, nothing happening today so I boobed them in water and I candled ... no signs of life so I gently cracked them open.
In one, a chick was only about 2/3s...
Mine has it too. I did the ACV but now it appears to be thicker fluid coming out.
I massaged her crop during the week and a lot of foul smelling fluid came out. She is picking at food but seems quite weak and has lost a lot of weight. I have separated her with another hen for company.
She isnt...
He is meant to be a copper but i think he will be a black! Turned out the breeder isnt telling the truth and running different cockerels with the hens!
Hi.
I am new to chickens. Actually I was terrified of them following a vicious cockerel of my nans as a young girl.
But I wanted to share my Dad's hobby. I would collect the eggs but only I was able to vault the fence and shut the chickens out first.
Now... 2 years on... I will hold one...
Hi there.
I had a chicken with both feet having curled toes.
I used masking tape... i laid his toes on the tape, moved them into correct position of how they should sit, leaving the back one free, and then put the tape over the top to make a bootie on each foot. Leave on four 48hrs.
Google...
Better definitely. He still stumbles over but the masking tape booties really straightened his toes out and stopped him walking on his hocks.
He accidently pecked the foot of my other chick, Uno. He was not impressed!
It is a bit runny actually ...
It had clear fluid too but that has stopped now. He is very needy! I put my hand in the box and he will come out and eat. I take my hand out and he shoots back under his brooder!
He is finally pecking food on the tray. Not just from my hand
