3 day old maran chick not eating

Ok. I lowered it so hopefully better for him. He eats egg if I hold it to him and finally started peck bits in the feeder. Def had quite a full crop last night and still this morning...

Is he pooping regularly? No pasty butt?

It is a bit runny actually ...

It had clear fluid too but that has stopped now. He is very needy! I put my hand in the box and he will come out and eat. I take my hand out and he shoots back under his brooder!

He is finally pecking food on the tray. Not just from my hand

I only had some baby parrot vitamins! I put a drop in and have ordered some chick one

Try him on some egg yolk again and maybe even a little bit of coconut oil mixed in. Glad to see he is eating a little bit. The vitamins should perk him up some more. How is the balance issue?

Better definitely. He still stumbles over but the masking tape booties really straightened his toes out and stopped him walking on his hocks.

He accidently pecked the foot of my other chick, Uno. He was not impressed!

They do tend to think that the other chick's toes are some kind of tasty worm. Usually this ends in squealing from the victim. They figure it out eventually. Glad he is doing better. Keep posting if there is more trouble.
