    I have a 5 week old RIR with odd toes...

    she is getting around just fine. But her toes go wonky at the first knuckle. Instead of being straight, they are at an odd angle. When I examine them they seem kinda floppy. I just noticed this odd-ball. Whats up with her? Should I just leave her be?

    Plants around coop ????????

    I plan to plant lavender around the run/coop. It isn't on the don't list and it will smell nice. I also plan to make lavender oil with the harvested blooms. (if they don't eat it all)

    I Love, Love, Love my umbrella clothes line. Just make sure you let the concrete cure/dry long enough before you use it. I used ours too soon and foofed-up the pole in the ground.     We have finally decided on the coop. it's gonna be a half coop, elevated off the ground, with a hinged clear fiberglass roof (for light). Barn style windows.     Odd RIR

    I have 24 RIR. 11 days old. All female. I was thrilled when they started getting tail feathers. They are so cute! But, one has no tail feathers. None. Not even a little poking out. Is she a different breed maybe? or just an odd chick?
