Duckling has pipped in two spots.

Thanks. I have 3 jars of water in the cooler to get the humidity up and the duckling is trying to cuddle with the jars. I'll put something for it to cuddle with tomorrow. I have another 20 duck eggs that are suppose to hatch on Thursday so hopefully he gets some company than.

Duckling has pipped in two spots.

The cooler wasn't ideal, but I needed a hatcher. Won't be hatching in it again, too hard to regulate temp and humidity. I had the duckling hatch today and it;s healthy. It was rather bizarre, as it just made various holes and didn't appear to zip. I don't think the other eggs will hatch.

Duckling has pipped in two spots.

First time hatching duck eggs, second round of hatching eggs. Why has the duckling pipped in two spots? I have them in a cooler to hatch. I had 11 eggs in and than added 20 eggs a week later so I had to come up with a hatcher. The cooler is driving me batty trying to keep the humidity and...

Will 102-104 degrees F kill developing eggs?

I have 3 thermometers in my incubator and all 3 have a different temp so it's nice knowing I might get some ducklings if I can keep it between 95 F to 104 F. Thankfully it's never been over 102 F in my incubator.

Will 102-104 degrees F kill developing eggs?

I'm incubating 31 duck eggs and my incubator temp has been all over the map. I'm trying to keep it at 99.5 F, but my incubator doesn't like that temp, lol. I found this online: Zone of heat injury (above 40.5°C/104.9°F) Zone of hatching potential (35 – 40.5°C/95 F- 104.2) Zone of...

    Hatchaholics Unite!

My dad bought me an incubator. I can't believe he actually bought it for me, lol. I live in the city and he lives on a farm and I fill his farm up. First hatch I had a 54 % hatch rate and now I have 31 duck eggs in it. I also have a Silkie sitting on some goose eggs. Yeah I'm addicted to...
