Duckling has pipped in two spots.

Found it! I noticed this on days that I ran the fireplace and the room heated up to 80 degrees, then I asked DH to explain why and he found a wiki page on "dew point" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dew_point
thinking back on it i remember my 7th grade science teacher having us do experiments on it
wow, that was awhile ago

hard to forget the teacher though lol

The cooler wasn't ideal, but I needed a hatcher. Won't be hatching in it again, too hard to regulate temp and humidity. I had the duckling hatch today and it;s healthy. It was rather bizarre, as it just made various holes and didn't appear to zip. I don't think the other eggs will hatch.

If all that hatches is the one?...Finger crossed you get more..

.....Hang a mirror and give it something fluffy like a sock to cuddle..

..It won't cry so much then..

Best wishes..

Thanks. I have 3 jars of water in the cooler to get the humidity up and the duckling is trying to cuddle with the jars. I'll put something for it to cuddle with tomorrow. I have another 20 duck eggs that are suppose to hatch on Thursday so hopefully he gets some company than.

A chick or duckling can survive for up to 3 days with no food and water on its yolk
It is ok in the Bator if you think the others may be trying to pip/hatch

Make sure it is dry n fluffy
