    Larkwell Valley (2023)

Oh yeah, that little guy is very yellow, haha! I wouldn't be surprised at all if it feathers out white.

Somebody PLEASE tell me how to incubate Sebastopol geese eggs!!!!

I myself wouldn't want the humidity that high until lockdown. For my area, that would be much too high and I'd have the goslings drowing before they hatch. I prefer 35% myself as I find that's what works best. @Angeladukes40 Have you been candling? What do the air cells look like? That will...

    Larkwell Valley (2023)

Can you post a picture of the duckling? It could possibly be white - white is recessive, so if both parents carry a copy, and the duckling happened to inherit both, surprise white duckling, haha.

Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

49 to 60 days, usually. My flipping keeper chick got out of his brooder and turned my incubators off two days ago :barnie: The legbars in the incubator that were a week along are okay. The duck eggs that I had JUST started two days before are not, sigh. There go my runners. No idea if the goose...

Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Yep! I have my adults, and also one chick that I'm keeping this year so far, and two last eggs in my incubator due in a couple weeks.

Welcome to my pond - Swim, wade, or sit on the bank

Hi everyone! Been awhile since I popped in here. I hope everyone is well. I'm just starting my spring flock rebuilding after the dog attack last winter. I picked up some legbar eggs locally that are going into the incubator today. They are from opal hens under a cream male, and there was an...

I am so sorry to hear about your loss and the fire :( That is devastating.

    Interesting feathers

I haven't seen it either! I'd be interested to see if it stays like that after another molt.

I might have to check in with you about some legbar and Pilgrim eggs :) What breeds are you crossing for the sex links?

    Legbar cross breeding

Not autosexing, because that is a breed trait that carries on throughout the generations. However, legbars are barred, so if your modern game rooster is not, the chicks would be a type of black sex link. The difference is that sex links are a one generation cross, and it only works once - the...

    Silver Mallard Ducks

Hey! I've done them before. It is not easy. Of course, I also had the eggs shipped to me, which is never great on the eggs so that didn't help. I've tried I think three times now? I got two ducklings to hatch out of all the tries, and neither survived. Now, all three of those tries were also...

Official BYC Poll: What type of incubator do you use?

Mine has probably changed - I don't think I had the Sportsman back then. It's become my main incubator, both for emu eggs and for other poultry in the emu off-season. I use a Nurture-Right 360 for birds other than emus in emu hatching season.

Suggestions on drake addition for color variety

Sorry I didn't reply! I have been SO swamped at work with the holidays I wasn't getting on BYC very much. Looks like you got a good answer though :)

    Any Gamers Here?

The Amazon was once called the "green hell" by explorers. Diseases, bugs, predators, constant rain, etc, might it a nightmare for those who tried to explore and map it. So they named the game after that :)

    Any Gamers Here?

I've played Green Hell! Very pretty game with an interesting story. I should load it up on my new PC and see if it's even prettier, haha. Lately I've been playing Baldur's Gate 3. I picked it up at the beginning of October and I don't think I've touched another game since, aside from some shiny...
