wanted: show quality indian runner duck eggs for hatching

I have decided to develop a concentration. I want to show and raise Indian runner ducks. I have some right now, but they are poor quality. I have some decent quality eggs coming in the mail from ebay (labled show quality, but they aren't show stoppers). I want some really nice quality runners...

not sure if this is the right place to post but...

we have a bad tick problem. We also have bad fly/mosquito problem. I want guineas but the noise makes it impssible. Is there any other critter I can get that will be comparable, but less noisy, to the guinea's bug-eating ability?

    who will go broody?

which type of quail is most likely to go broody and successfully raise a crop of young when housed with multiple other quail in an outdoor (on-the ground) pen?

Roo with partial scalped head....help! (graphic photo)

I've had this happen more than once. Surprisingly, even completely scalped, they always seem to pull through it. I had one with the bones of the skull exposed that healed up and is just fine. I put neosporin on it twice a day, and brought them inside under a heat lamp (so they could use their...

I need help with a duckling's leg injury!

update... I added the vitamins. I replaced the cedar that was currently in the pen with aspen. I went out to feed and water this morning and the duckling was looking even worse... I moved him next to the waterer and he drank considerably. I suppose he might have lost the ability to scoot and...

I need help with a duckling's leg injury!

I went on a 3 day vacation and hired a petsitter. The petsitter did a wonderful job, so I have no doubt that the injury is not due to her or her care. Anyway, I came back to find one of my indian runner ducklings can not stand. Everybody else is fine. I can't find any visible injury at all, not...

    duck marking question

ADDED TO CLARIFY: the duckling's patch is only on one shoulder, and it's on the side. It's not a patch that covers both shoulders or goes over the back.

    duck marking question

I bought a hatching egg lot off of ebay a while back. The eggs were supposed to hatch into blue crested runner ducks. I did not hatch a single blue crested runner duck, or even a single crested duckling (but that's another issue...). I did hatch a duckling that looks like it is going to be solid...

resubmited pm- Muscovy Pet Duckling advice

Ducks most certaintly can be cuddly pets. But this is if they are raised one at a time, not seeing other ducks, and handled and played with daily. Like dogs, if you raise two or more puppies together, they usually get more upset to be away from each other than you, and they play with each other...

What mangled my quail? *CAUTION* Graphic pics!!

Rat. When I had pet rats I would give them the whole carcasses of quail that had passed away naturally. This is how they looked when they were done with them. If left with what you see there long enough, they will begin to eat the rest, but they always go for organs and brains first. Your...

    How long can they sit?

I have muscovy eggs. I got them in the mail the day before yesterday. I have ducklings hatching in my incubators right now. I was hoping to use my better incubators for the muscovy eggs, since those eggs are expensive. In order to do this, the eggs might have to sit for 4 or so days after being...
