Thanks, but this bird is a pet. I found this info below online...any thoughts?

lice are easily treated by the use of 5% carbaryl dust, pyrethrin spray or ivermectin. Several doses 7-10 days apart may be necessary to eradicate lice as they hatch out...
Thank you both. Is there another option that is less toxic? My bird is in my dining room and my cat, dog, kids are around it. We eat very near the cage, which is why the bugs got on the table.
Someone gave me a TA&M that I keep in the house, and I saw tiny bugs on my table. I microscoped one and it looks like it is lice, the bird may have other bugs too and I wouldn't know it. I don't have a way to do a dust bath inside...I could take her outside temporarily for a dust bath though. I...
I incubated four Bobwhites inside my house, they lived in my dining room. First in a fishtank brooder, then in a couple of guinea pig cages. Then a Texas A&M Coturnix was given to me. I loved the BW eggs, little white perfect eggs, bright orange yummy yolks. The Texas A&M eggs are flavorless...
I don't want anymore Bobwhites. I loved them, but they are too wild. I can't pick them up when needed. Thank you both. I will just keep them separate but nearby.
I have only one Bobwhite (male) left out of my 4. He is very lonely without his mate, constantly calling for a mate now. Someone is giving away a Texas A&M Female, I would like to put her with my male. Is this okay to do? I am reading a lot of conflicting opinions.
Thanks, Quailchick
Hello, I had hatched 4 Bobwhites. Our charter teacher sent the eggs to us without my knowledge, when they arrived I didn't even know what they were! We thought we had a good home for them, so we hatched them. That fell out, so we had to keep them and we are not allowed to have them outdoors...
Well, I have to tell you, I incubated 4 eggs. Just 4. And all of them hatched. One egg I had to pick the bird out of the shell, because the shell was pipped all around and it hadn't done anything for hours, so I picked her out. Good thing, she is my last remaining hen and she is the only one...
Thank you for the info! You are always such a big help!
I have one egg that is older than that, and I don't know which one that is now, so I will just put it in the incubator tomorrow and hope for the best! I found one egg at 8 oclock this morning and two more eggs this afternoon, so will...
I decided to save some eggs from my Bobwhite hens to hatch in our incubator. We don't have room for many more, so I only want to hatch 6. I read somewhere that you are supposed to set the eggs aside for some days before putting them in the incubator. Can you tell me the instructions for this...
I hatched four in the incubator, put them in a fishtank brooder, and they did the same thing. They would cry for me and I had to sit by them frequently so they would calm down. I would whistle to them and it was calming...so when they would start crying sometimes I could whistle to them while...
What is the product you use for the supplement?
I put the male back in with the others. Slow Poke has calmed down, no boinking, but they are now calling incessantly for each other....maybe it will stop after a while.
