The chick just hatched I think because it's still wet. Whatever is hanging out doesn't look right, has anyone heard of this before? I'm afraid it's gonna die.
We got three new hens yesterday, they are only a few months old but our rooster had a fit. He started being mean and chasing all my chickens. He's been protecting these chicks of his for a month and now he wants to hurt them! We kicked him out of the coop today, boy does he want back in! I...
We have five chicks that are about a three weeks old. We don't if they are roosters or hens but tonight at bedtime two wouldn't go in the box with momma and the others, instead they kinda rammed each other until one went into the box and the other jumped on top of the box and walked around like...
Thanks Alex15! This is one of my babies, im still not sure what kind she is.....ive heard my chickens look like old english bantams, rhode island reds, and brown leghorns! This one is from a brown egg, my little hen sat on her white eggs and my other hens brown ones. I never thought chickens...
My hen and her 5 chicks got loose today! The hen is still out and we caught 3 of her chicks, unfortunately our rooster took off while we were putting the chicks back! So now we are missing 2 chicks, a rooster, and a hen. The chickens are in the bushes on the other side of a fence, any ideas how...
The left was hatched from a brown egg, I think its a Rhode Island Red, the one on the right was from a white egg, I think its a Brown Leghorn, I know NOTHING about chickens! Can anyone tell me if im right?
Also my profile picture is the same as the one on the right.
I dont know a lot about chickens but it does look like mine when she was smaller, shes a brown leghorn. I noticed yours has the same yellowish neck that turns to a darker brown throughout the rest of the body.

The chick on the left is a Rhode Island Red I think, and the one on the right is a Brown Leghorn. Anyone know? The left was hatched from a brown egg and the right is from a white one. Our hens both layed eggs and the Leghorn hatched them. 4 white hatched but only 1 brown out of 12 hatched! :(
