Thank you so much!!
I didn't realize they could infect the house, I will get her moved into a kennel in the run instead. It's snowing here and below freezing, so I didn't want to put her out in the cold after I gave a soak last night and she was still wet.
I bought some permitherin dust, so...
Hey all, I have a 3-year-old Sapphire Olive Egger who is not doing so well.
I noticed that the last few days she was standing oddly. After seeing her stumble and be attacked by another hen, I did some googling and realized it was the penguin stance, and I thought she might be eggbound. I...
I have never dewormed them actually . What do you recommend?
I don't know what water belly is, but she appears to be breathing normally, I think? Maybe a little heavy compared to the others, it's hard to tell.
Yes I've kept them on chick starter since I got them. I'm not sure whether she's eating/drinking, hard to tell when everyone else around. I got her to pick at a banana last night. She's always been skittish and generally runs away, I'll try to see if she'll let me close enough to feel her crop.
Morning all,
One of my hens, Sylvie, has been acting weird. She's a Silver Laced Wyandotte, will be 2 in August. I have 14 other hens and 1 rooster, no other health issues that I can detect.
For starters, when they all molted in the fall, while everyone else's feathers grew back, she has...
Hey all, I have a mixed flock, 15 hens and 1 rooster. I got them all last summer, they're all between 7 and 8 months old. I've been feeding them Nature's Best Organic Chick Feed Starter/Grower. I've been wanting to try an organic All Flock, but it seems that that's rather hard to find, and from...
I'm sorry my eyes just skipped straight over "egg" and assumed oyster 🤦♀️. That is such a thrifty nifty idea, I'll have to try that. Mine just started laying so I haven't tried any sort of supplements left. I'm still learning. So when you say you dry them, what do you mean by that?
I have sixteen and so far all are still well! I haven't let them out, just kept them in their coop. The coop has gotten down to 2 degrees but today was up to 15. I even had one of my chickens lay their first egg yesterday!
