So my 3rd EE, Emily....or rather Emilio....began crowing this morning. So I was right, 3 for 3. Not a good *pullet to cockerel ratio* for a pullet box.
We have one that was doing this about once a week, and one side like this pretty much every other day. If it is only just one, I probably would not worry, but if it keeps happening, their calcium may need increased.
My white ones were not laying. I did some research and found I was probably giving them too much protein(we have been using a 30%) and that they likely needed a calcium supplement. We switched foods to a 20% and within a couple days they started laying, and the other boys started crowing. We...

They died? What incubator do you have? Are you using the thermostat on the incubator or a hygrometer, if it's the one on the unit that could be why, those tend to be pretty inaccurate.
It's nice that you can keep a couple chickens when you move into town. I know some places are overly strict about that. Usually HOAs, I think. We have a lot of those in the west valley, thankfully we moved just past that, ha!
